Quiet before the Storm

You know BIG BLUE NATION  the Hosscat20 has been talking with a few UK fans and we seem to be overly confident about the U of L game.  It is a big rivalry which means it can go either way.  The ville has more players coming off the bench then we do.  More upper class men  in their starting rotation then we do.  On the other hand, we have played a tougher schedule thus far.  We definitely have played in a hostile environment before, so the Yum Center shouldn't bother us at all.  And they don't have anyone to guard Terrance Jones. But for the most part, most fans, UK and U of L are not saying a whole lot.  Sure we are all optimistic about our teams, but most fans are not really sure about the outcome.  I know the best team tomorrow will control the boards. Ball control will be the key to success for either team.  I also believe free throw shooting will be very important in the outcome because this game will be close.  Whoever makes their free throws will have the best chance at winning the game.  Oh yeah! I read a comment on the LHL website about Rick Pitino that made me understand why everyone hates Kentucky fans.  A guy said that Coach Pitino told his players to basically start a fight with the UK players last year just to shake up our super freshmen class.  No doubt, Pitino told them to be aggressive with them and he probably told them to get under Cousins skin to get him off his game, maybe even thrown out of the the game.  So what!  Sounds like good coaching to me.  You don't think Coach Cal would have done the same thing if he had to defend a Demarcus Cousins?!  Please, If you paid attention to the game at all, our players where running their mouths just as much as the U of L player.  Plus, we all watched Cousins last year.  He was a hot head!!  If a person could not see that then that person has selective sight, that is he see what he wants to see and ignores what he doesn't want to see.  I watched every game UK played last year and I know that most teams did not have to bring a fight to Demarcus Cousins because he was going to bring the fight to them.  As for the few over confident fans who believe we gonna beat the ville by 20.  Do the Hosscat20 a big favor and make sure you don't bet that, please. I know everyone is trying to rebound after Christmas. I know my finances are not good enough to be making dumb bets right now.  Go Big Blue!

Winthrop

Big Blue Nation! We look good against Winthrop. We looked like we are coming together a little.  How about Lamb!? He was awsome, 32pts, most for a freshman in Rupp. We are getting better, even Vargas nplayed with more passion.  I think we might surprise some people in March.

Notre Dame

I think defense is the key.  The Hosscat20 believes in playing D, and if we can play D like we did in the second half against ND, we will win some ball games. Of course, our interior defense is week because we lack that physical presence that keeps the other team out of the paint.  But we will be OK as long as we play hard, aggressive D.  Do me a favor Big Blue Nation, stop wondering when Mr. Kanter will be on the floor. Most importantly, stop waiting to see if he will play or not.  We need to focus on what we have on the floor right now.  Understand that those kids hear that we want Enes chant night in and night out.  They here people in the community and on campus saying, " We would be a better team with Kanter."  Lets hope for the best with Enes and put all of our hearts and souls with the team we have now, because we do have a good one.  Defense is the key this year.

CAROLINE GAME

The North Caroline game was not a total wash Big Blue Nation. Yeah, we lost, but a 2 point difference means we had a chance to win.  We had four guys foul and our post presence is very week right now. I wish we had Kanter too, but we have to find a way to win without him because he will not see the floor this year, maybe not at all.  I believe that the cats will surprise some teams this year.  We have good guard play, Terrance Jones is a lottery pick, and we can shoot the ball better than we did last year.  We just need to become a better rebounding team this year. Everyone needs to go to the boards because we don't have Big Cuz grabbing 10 plus boards this year. The Hosscat20 believes that the NC game was a success because now we know exactly what we need to focus on for the next game.  Don't worry Big Blue Nation, March is still a long ways off.

If you were grading this blog, what kind of grade would you give it?
