BIG BLUE NATION! Two things I have to talk about. First, John Wall first game as a Wizard; 24 points, 8 assists. Not bad for a rookie huh. Wall hasn't played a game since UK, so that is a positive start for the young man, a real confidence builder. He also had 8 turnovers which makes his assist to turnover ratio even, but he is just a rookie in his first game. He will be a great NBA player. The second thing I want to talk about is the loss of one of our ex-cats who was one of the greatest big men in UK history. RIP Melvin Turpin, a great player and great person. I watch him play as a kid and the thing I remember the most was his soft little jump shot around the basket. His jump shot was beautiful for a big, back when big men could shoot free throws.
